Call For Special Sessions

Special Sessions

You are invited to propose special sessions for the 15th Annual Medical Measurements and Applications Symposium to be held in Bari, Italy. The symposium will include papers that advance the science of measurement and instrumentation as related or applied to medicine. This includes electrical, chemical and physiological sensors and systems which deliver measurement data for prevention, diagnosis or treatment of disease.

Special Session Topics should relate to a particular medical measurement type or a specific application. Examples of previously successful Special Sessions are included in:

Submission

Proposed Special Session Chairs should contact the Special Session Chair with their topic. Papers for the Special Session should be identified as such, but will be reviewed by the same procedure for all papers (deadline applies). At least 5 accepted papers must be received by the deadline to allow an organization of a special session. If insufficient papers are received, accepted papers will be distributed to applicable general sessions by the Technical Chairs. All papers must be written in English according to the guidelines provided on the MeMeA 2020 website. All Accepted Papers will be submitted for publication to IEEE Xplore. A Special Issue of IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM) will be published after the symposium. It will contain papers selected on the basis of the results of regular peer review of the manuscripts. Each manuscript should meet the scope of TIM and be based on a paper presented at the symposium and published in the symposium proceedings. The manuscript must be significantly extended beyond the scope of the proceedings paper in terms of overall technical content and research results.

Deadline for Special Sessions Proposals: November 3, 2019
